Hunter Wohler
Muskego High and Wisconsin safety; NFL draft pick (Indianapolis, 2025)
$624,610
Hunter Wohler is the Muskego High safety who stacked three WIAA state titles, won Gatorade Wisconsin Football Player of the Year, captained Wisconsin, and reached the NFL with Indianapolis. The house that made him is still on Little Muskego Lake. Born in Muskego on January 12, 2003, he was raised there after his family moved for water skiing, not football. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School—about 120 students in the whole building, eight in his eighth-grade class—then Muskego High, where the Warriors won three straight state championships. As a sophomore he recorded 155 tackles; his senior tape showed 78 tackles, two interceptions, and a 9-0 regular season cut short by the pandemic. Career high-school totals under the Gatorade release were 355 tackles and 11 interceptions. He was a two-time Associated Press state player of the year and signed with Wisconsin carrying a 4.29 weighted GPA. At Wisconsin he became a captain and led all Big Ten defensive backs with 120 tackles in 2023, while still driving I-94 home for a library literacy program and a youth camp. Indianapolis drafted him in the seventh round in 2025 (232nd overall). Muskego remains the address; the lake is why the Wohlers came.
