Teresa Mogensen is chair of the board, president, and chief executive officer of ATC, the Pewaukee-based transmission utility that owns and operates more than 10,000 miles of high-voltage lines across Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, and Illinois.
She returned as president and CEO in August 2023 after helping build ATC from 2000 to 2007 during its formation as the country's first for-profit, transmission-only utility, and was named board chair in January 2024.
Between ATC chapters she was senior vice president, energy supply at Minneapolis-based Xcel Energy, responsible for a generation fleet of more than 80 plants producing over 20,000 megawatts for 3.7 million customers across eight states. ATC today employs more than 500 people across Wisconsin and Michigan offices and serves more than five million customers.
Mogensen holds bachelor's and MBA degrees from Marquette University. She serves on the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Edison Electric Institute boards, chairs NERC's Reliability Issues Steering Committee, and sits on an IEEE Power Engineering Society executive advisory committee.
